HC Deb 09 May 1907 vol 174 c351
MR. WEDGWOOD (Newcastle-under Lyme)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether he has formed any estimate of the increase in the value of the land surrounding Rosyth which will result from the establishment there of a Government dockyard; and whether he has considered the advisability of making some arrangement to secure the improved value for the State before proceeding with any important work at Rosyth.

MR. EDMUND ROBERTSON

No estimate has been formed, and it would be difficult to form an accurate one. As to the second point, I understand that the Crown acquired an area, much larger than would otherwise have been necessary, with this object in view.
