HC Deb 08 May 1907 vol 174 c238
MR. DELANY

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether the appointment of travelling veterinary inspector to the Department has yet been made; and, if not, will he see that in making the appointment due regard shall be had to the number of experienced and well-qualified Catholic Irishmen eligible for the post, and also to the desirability of a more equal distribution of public appointments in Ireland, and above all that no further importations shall be made in filling positions under the Irish Agricultural Department.

MR. BIRRELL

I beg to refer to my Answer to the Question on this subject put by the hon. Member for South Down on 1st instant,†
