HC Deb 06 May 1907 vol 173 cc1322-3
MR. MURPHY

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether, in the case of Mr. Daniel O'Shea, an evicted tenant on the estate of Lord Kenmare, county Kerry, the Estates Commissioners are aware of the last offer on the part of the landlord as to reinstatement; and whether the Commissioners can now reopen negotiations to enable Mr. O'Shea to be put back in his farm, which is unoccupied.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The Estates Commissioners have inquired into this case, and as a result have intimated to the owner's agent the amount which they are prepared to advance for the purchase of the holding. The Commissioners have not yet heard whether the landlord is prepared to accept the offer.
