HC Deb 01 May 1907 vol 173 c884
MR. J. P. FARRELL

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether Mr. Michael Kiernan, D.C., of Lettergonnell, Ballinamuck, has been removed from the position of a turbary trustee on the Maconchy estate, and, if so, the grounds upon which this step has been taken.

MR. BIRRELL

The Estates Commissioners inform me that Mr. Kiernan was one of five turbary trustees originally nominated in connection with this estate. Mr. Kiernan, however, declined to act except on conditions which were impracticable, and he failed to attend a meeting to which he was summoned for the consideration of the matter in dispute. In these circumstances the Commissioners have agreed to his exclusion from the position.
