§ MR. BIRRELLThe Estates Commissioners inform me that of the 6,680 applications received up to 5th February last, 5,321 have been investigated, and they expect that the remaining 1,359 will be investigated by the end of May, the date mentioned by me on the 14th February last as the date on which it was hoped that the inquiries into these applications would be completed. I do not propose to make any detailed statement as to the result of investigations until the end of this month.
