HC Deb 01 May 1907 vol 173 cc846-7
SIR SAMUEL SCOTT (Marylebone, W.)

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many appointments to permanent messengerships have been made since January, 1906; and what was the occupation of the individual men prior to appointment.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Gladstone.) Since January, 1906, two such appointments have been made. One of the men appointed had just left the Royal Horse Artillery, after twelve years service, and the other the Royal Engineers, in which he had served between five and six years.
