MR. T. F. RICHARDSI beg to ask the Postmaster-General whether he has taken or whether he is about to take the necessary steps to enable the general public to acquire insurance policies affecting life, fire, accident, and other forms of insurance, upon the security of his particular Department.
§ MR. SYDNEY BUXTONI have appointed a Departmental Committee to consider "whether it is practicable, and if practicable, whether it is desirable, for the Post Office to provide facilities for the insurance of employers in respect of their liabilities under the Workmen's Compensation Acts, either generally or subject to limitations; and further to consider whether it is desirable that steps should be taken to encourage the use of the present life insurance system of the Post Office; and, if so, what steps." Lord Farrar is chairman of the Committee and the hon. Member for North Ayrshire is a member, and the Post Office, the Savings Bank, the Treasury, and the National Debt Commissioners are represented.
