§ MR. PIKE PEASE (Darlington)To ask the Secretary to the Admiralty for what reason and on what items the estimated expenditure, under the statute of 1905, on coaling facilities and fuel storage has been reduced by £260,000.
§ THE CIVIL LORD OF THE ADMIRALTY (Mr. Lambert, Devonshire, South Molton)The reductions are due to a careful revision of the items in the light of present naval requirements. The hon. Gentleman will understand it was impossible in 1905 to forecast with entire accuracy the needs of 1907.
