MR. PIKE PEASEI beg to ask the Secretary of State for War what is the estimated cost of supplying 300,000 men of the territorial force with one suit of clothes (service dress) for each man enrolled, together with boots, head dress, overcoat, etc.
§ MR. HALDANEThe cost of service dress for infantry, including great coat, boots, helmet, cap and badge, and putties, amounts to an average annual sum of 10s. 5d. per man, or about £156,000 a year for 300,000 men. The additional cost of equipment is about 1s. per man.
