HC Deb 27 March 1907 vol 171 cc1771-2
SIR THOMAS ESMONDE

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if the Board of Works and the Department of Agriculture in Ireland have yet arrived at an agreement with regard to the improvement of Arklow Harbour, in accordance with the arrangement come to last winter; and when will the work be begun.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The Irish Government have provisionally arranged with the Department of Agriculture for the carrying out of the scheme agreed upon at the recent conference at Arklow. Certain steps have to be taken before the work can be begun, and these are being pushed forward as rapidly as possible.
