JAMES O'KELLY (Roscommon, N.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether a representation was made to the Commissioners last month by the small tenants in the Ogulla district, Tulsk, Roscommon, asking for the purchase and redistribution of the grass lands on the estate of Lord Crofton, Moate, county Roseommon, with a view to relieving congestion and preventing emigration; and whether he can say with what result.
§ MR. BIRRELLThe Estates Commissioners have received a memorial to the effect mentioned from certain tenants on the estate of Lord Crofton, and have referred it for inquiry to their inspector, who is dealing with the estate. The inspector's report has not yet been received.
