§ MR. O'GRADY (Leeds, E.)I beg to ask the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that excessive overtime is being worked by the staff in the sorting office at Leeds; whether this could be obviated by an increase in the staff dealing with circulars, and the appointment of an adequate substitution staff with well-defined duties, such staffs not to be drawn upon for duties other than those for which they were established; and, if so, whether steps will be taken at an early date to deal with this matter.
§ MR. SYDNEY BUXTONAdditional force has of late been employed in the sorting office at Leeds, and the amount of overtime duty performed has been much reduced. A revision of the establishment is under consideration, and the matter will not be lost sight of.
