HAYDEN (Roscommon, S.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that purchase agreements were signed between the owner and the tenants of the Pakenham-Mahon estate, at Dysart, county Roscommon, so far back as 1905; whether repeated applications have been made to complete the agreement and no progress made by the Estates Commissioners in the matter; and whether he will make representations to them to expedite the transfer of this estate to the tenants.
§ THE CHIEF SECRETARY FOR IRELAND (Mr BIRRELL,) Bristol, N.The estate in question has been offered for sale to the Estates Commissioners, who have directed an inspection to be made. So far as the Commissioners are aware the tenants have not signed agreements to purchase from the owner direct.
