SEAVERNS (Lambeth, Brixton)To ask the Secretary to the Treasury 1471 if arrangements have been made for the appointment of a Departmental Committee to inquire into the alleged grievances of the clerks to surveyors of taxes; and, if so, can he give any information as to the composition and personnel of that Committee.
§ (Answered by Mr. Runciman.) As I stated in a written reply to a Question by the hon. Member for East Leeds last Tuesday, the matter is engaging the attention of the Chancellor of the Exchequer, but there is not, at the present time, any intention of appointing a Committee.
