§ MR. GINNELLI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he can account for the habit of inspectors to sanction the acquisition of sites for cottages upon small farms, and reject, without reasons stated, applications for sites upon large untenanted tracts in the same neighbourhood; and will he have instructions issued immediately to inspectors that, where untenanted land is available, sites should be sanctioned on that land rather than on small farms.
§ MR. BIRRELLI am informed that it is not the habit of the inspectors to act in the manner suggested, and there appears to be no necessity to issue instructions in the matter.
