HC Deb 18 March 1907 vol 171 cc477-8
MR. HENRY (Shropshire, Wellington)

I beg to ask Mr. Attorney-General if he will consider the advisability of precluding clerks to the justices of the peace of county benches from participating, either by conducting or instructing, in cases that may be committed by the magistrates to the assizes or quarter sessions.

THE ATTORNEY-GENERAL (Sir JOHN WALTON, Leeds, S.)

This subject has been considered, and dealt with in the Report of the Judicature Committee. I will give the matter my attention. Considerations of some weight have been advanced in favour of continuing the present system.
