HC Deb 14 March 1907 vol 171 cc212-3
MR. BELLOC

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he can give any information as to whether spraying with a fungicide has been found to be efficacious in stopping the spread of the American mildew in Ireland during the past six years.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The Department of Agriculture are advised that spraying with fungicide has not hitherto been found to be altogether efficacious in Ireland as a remedy for American mildew. At the same time the results have, in some cases, been sufficiently satisfactory to warrant the hope that better results will follow the use of a fungicide in the present year.
