§ MR. BELLOCTo ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he can give any information as to whether spraying with a fungicide has been found to be efficacious in stopping the spread of the American mildew in Ireland during the past six years.
§ (Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The Department of Agriculture are advised that spraying with fungicide has not hitherto 213 been found to be altogether efficacious in Ireland as a remedy for American mildew. At the same time the results have, in some cases, been sufficiently satisfactory to warrant the hope that better results will follow the use of a fungicide in the present year.
