§ MR. O'SHAUGHNESSYI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland, whether, in view of the fact that Mr. Justice Johnson, in opening the assizes for the county of Limerick on Friday last, stated to the grand jury that there were only three cases, not of any great importance, to go before them, and that they had nothing to say to the general peace of the country, he will take steps to bring about the more speedy reinstatement of the evicted tenants, so that this state of affairs may be maintained.
§ MR. BIRRELLAccording to the newspaper reports, Mr. Justice Johnson made the statement attributed to him in the Question. The Estates Commissioners inform me that they are using all possible expedition in dealing with the cases of evicted tenants.
