To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord - Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that, after four appearances before the local magistrates, the sixteen defendants charged with unlawful assembly and cattle-driving at Roscomroe on 30th April were dismissed on Monday last; whether any and, if so, what defence was offered; and what steps will now be taken to bring the perpetrators of this act to justice.

Answered by Mr. Birrell.)The fact; is as stated in the Question. The evidence in the case is about to be submitted to my right hon. friend the Attorney- General for Ireland, who will consider whether further proceedings should be taken.
