MR. BRIDGE MAN (Shropshire, Oswestry)I beg to ask the President of the Board of Education when the grants due for the instruction given to pupil teachers in the year ending 1st July, 1906, will be paid over to the local authorities; and what is the cause of the delay.
§ MR. MCKENNAThe great bulk of the pupil teacher grants for the year ending 31st July, 1906, were paid before the conclusion of the last financial year. The delay in the payment of any of these grants which may still be outstanding is probably due to correspondence as to the fulfilment of the conditions precedent to the payment of the grants.
