§ VISCOUNT TURNOUR (Sussex, Horsham)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that, despite the recent issue by the War Office of a memorandum to music hall 607 managers warning them against permitting at their halls any performances calculated to bring His Majesty's uniform into contempt, performances are still taking place at certain halls exceedingly offensive to His Majesty's Army; and whether he proposes to take any, and, if any, what, action in the matter.
§ MR. HALDANEThe memorandum referred to was one issued by the Home Office to the police authorities at the instance of this Department. I am not aware that any performances such as are alluded to are taking place.
