To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether the proposed meeting has yet taken place between the engineer to the Board of Works and the engineer to the Midland Great Western Railway of Ireland with regard to the cost of construction of the proposed line from Mallaranny to Belmullet; and, if so, what was the result of the meeting.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The meeting in question has taken place, and the Board of Works are about to furnish a Report to the Irish Government relative to the proposals made by the railway company's engineer.
