HC Deb 19 June 1907 vol 176 c474
MR. JOYCE (Limerick)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether, in the case of a landlord selling his property with sporting rights, and where such rights include any fishery for which a body of fishermen have paid a rental for such fishery from time immemorial, the Commissioners having carriage of sale will grant the same right of purchase to the fishermen for those waters as they will to the farmers for the land.

MR. BIRRELL

The Estates Commissioners inform me that if any such fishery as is mentioned in the Question should become vested in the Land Commission, the Commissioners would be prepared to consider any applications from fishermen who may have paid rent for such fishery.
