§ MR. BOWERMANTo ask the Secretary to the Admiralty if he can state the. number of engine-room artificers who are now at the depots of each home port above those required to complete the nucleus crews of ships in the Home Fleet, and the specific duties they are employed upon.
(Answered by Mr. Edmund Robertson.) As already stated, in reply to the hon. Member's Question of 5th June, the number of engine-room artificers now borne is sufficient to man the war fleet, but the numbers required to complete are not necessarily borne in the depots.
