§ MR. W. HOPE (Somersetshire, N.)To ask the President of the Board of Education whether he is yet in a position to make any statement with regard to the payment of grants in aid of the cost of the provision of hostels in connection with training colleges.
(Answered by Mr. McKenna.) Building grants will be payable in respect of hostels provided by local authorities in connection with a recognised training college, which is either provided by some local education authority or is a department of a University or University college, or is free from denominational restrictions, in manner to be set out in the regulations.
