§ MR. FIELDTo ask the Postmaster General whether, seeing that the percentages, or figures immediately leading thereto, of Irish deposits and withdrawals made through British deposit books, and vice versa, have been actually worked out in the Post Office Savings Bank for the year 1906, or for a certain quarter or quarters of 1906, he will now order the Controller of the Savings Bank to furnish these percentages for the last available year or quarter; and, if not, will he explain why.
(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) The hon. Member is mistaken in sup posing that the percentages of Irish Savings Bank deposits and withdrawals made through British deposit books and vice versa, or any figures immediately leading to those percentages, have been worked out for the year 1906 or for any other period. As I have stated in reply to previous Questions addressed to me by the hon. Member, to ascertain these percentages would involve an expenditure of time and labour that does not seem warranted.
