§ MR. LONSDALEI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that the Kilmore branch of the United Irish League have passed a resolution calling upon the chairman of the Carrick-on-Shannon Rural District Council to resign his position on the ground that he declined to obey the summons of the League to adjudicate as a magistrate in the recent agrarian prosecutions at Hill Street; and what action he proposes to take to secure the proper administration of justice in that district.
§ MR. BIRRELLI have no information in this matter beyond the fact that a newspaper report to the effect mentioned in the first part of the Question has appeared. I have no reason to suppose that the proper administration of justice will be affected by any such resolution.
