HC Deb 07 June 1907 vol 175 c955
MR. SUMMERBELL (Sunderland)

To ask the Postmaster-General if he is aware that no improvement has taken place in regard to the maximum pay of messengers since their creation over forty years ago; and, if so, will he state whether it is his intention to make any improvement in the conditions of labour of these men.

(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) I am afraid, as my honourable friend will I am sure appreciate, that I cannot consider any question of wages until the Select Committee have reported.
