WEIRI beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland whether he is aware that Mr. William Mackenzie, of Buck, Tarradale, Ross-shire, although not in arrear with his rent, is now, at the termination of his lease, being summarily evicted by Mrs. Mary Fraser, Carna. chlarsair, Muir of Ord; and will he take steps to introduce provisions in the Small Landholders (Scotland) Bill to protect crofter leaseholders from eviction pending the consideration of the Bill.

He regrets to say that it is not possible to provide protection for such cases in the Small Landholders (Scotland) Bill.
