§ Mr. BECKETT (Yorkshire, N. R, Whitby)To ask the Secretary of State for War whether it has been decided to proceed no further with the preparation and publication of the official history of the war in South Africa beyond the volume now in the Press; and, if so, whether he will state the reasons for abandoning a work of so much public interest and importance.
(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) The responsibility for the publication of the history has been transferred to the Committee of Imperial Defence, and the work is steadily proceeding
