§ MR. J. RAMSAY MACDONALD (Leicester)I beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether twenty-two Zulus, with three chiefs, including Tilonko, who has presented a petition to the King showing that his sentence was illegal, have been deported to St. Helena from Natal; if so, whether the prisoners will be kept in St. Helena at the expense of the Imperial Government or of Natal; and whether he will lay upon the Table Papers showing the negotiations which have taken place between the Natal Government and His Majesty's Government regarding the deportations.
§ MR. CHURCHILLTwenty-five prisoners including Tilonko have been deported to St. Helena from Natal. The cost will be borne by the Government of Natal. Papers will be laid as soon as the necessary communications have been made to the Government of Natal.
