HC Deb 04 June 1907 vol 175 cc485-6
MR. LYNCH (Yorkshire, W.R., Ripon)

I bee to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the recent Report of His Majesty's Minister in Tehran to the effect that all † see (4) Debates, elxxiv., 787. is now quiet in the South of Persia makes any mention of the fact that a brother of His Majesty the Shah has been for some time engaged in the south-western provinces organising a rebellion against the Persian Government; and whether lie has any official information as to the report that this prince is now marching northwards at the head of an army.

SIR EDWARD GREY

His Majesty's Minister at Tehran has reported that a younger brother of His Majesty the Shah is in revolt between Kermanshah and Hamadan, and that military measures are being taken.

MR. LYNCH

Has there been any request for mediation made to either the British or the Russian Government?

SIR EDWARD GREY

Not that I am aware of.
