I beg to ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer if he can now give an estimate of the probable receipts into the Exchequer resulting from the new regulations as to compulsory returns of income made by individuals and employers.

MR. ASQUITH

No, Sir. I have no data on which to base an estimate of the amount of taxable income which escapes assessment through the imperfections of the present regulations.
