I beg to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can give the House any information regarding the progress of the Peking-Kalgan Railway.

A regular service of trains exists between † See (4) Debates, clxxiv., 1314–5 Fengtai (on the Peking-Tientsin line) and Nank'on, a distance of over thirty-four miles, out of a total of 125 miles to Kalgan. It is expected that the line will be completed towards the end of 1909.
