To ask the President of the Board of Trade whether he can state the distances between Liverpool and Auckland by the following routes: via Halifax N.S., and Vancouver, via Montreal and Vancouver, via New York and San Francisco, via the Tehuantepec Railway, detailing in each case the distance across the Atlantic by steamship, the distance across the American Continent by railway, and the distance across the Pacific by steamship.

(Answered by Mr. Lloyd-George.) The Board of Trade have no special information on the subject, but they understand that the shortest distances by sea, between the several ports, are approximately as follows: —
