To ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the approximate amount which he estimates the Exchequer will derive from the new provision with reference to income-tax requiring all employers, whether private persons or companies, to make extended returns giving, not only the names, but the salaries of their employees.

(Answered by Mr. Asquith.) No, Sir. I have no data on which to base an estimate of the amount of taxable income which escapes assessment through the imperfections of the present regulations.
