HC Deb 03 June 1907 vol 175 c271
SIR GEORGE FARDELL (Paddington, S.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether his attention has been called to the order of the South Roscommon executive of the United Irish League requesting another branch to take notice of the conduct of a certain grazier; and whether he will say what action he proposes to take for ensuring to the said grazier the peaceful possession of his land.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) I am informed that a local newspaper contained a report to the effect mentioned in the Question. The meeting at which this order is alleged to have been given was held within doors, and the police have no evidence that any such proceedings took place. The police are taking all possible measures for the protection of the grazier referred to.
