To ask the Secretary to the Treasury whether, shortly before the present Government came into office, it was contemplated by the late Government to transfer the Irish audit work from London to Dublin; and, if so, will he explain why such transfer is not now carried out.

(Answered by Mr. Runciman.) I am not aware that any such step was contemplated.
