HC Deb 31 July 1907 vol 179 c972
MR. O'SHAUGHNESSY

I beg to ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he can say when the Local Loans Bill will be taken; and whether it is his intention to insert a clause in it allowing the rural district councils in Ireland to repay the outstanding loans in connection with the Labourers (Ireland) Acts at 3¼ per cent., principal and interest, in the period of 68½ years.

MR. RUNCIMAN

My right hon. friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer cannot fix the precise date, and thinks it would be premature to make any announcement as to the details of the proposals for dealing with the loans referred to, until the Bill is introduced.
