HC Deb 31 July 1907 vol 179 c947
MR. BELLAIRS (Lynn Regis)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether he is yet in a position to give the armament of the Japanese battleships "Satsuma" and "Aki," of 19,350 tons and 19,800 tons respectively, which are now building; and whether these battleships, which are the outcome of Japanese experience in the late war, carry armaments which support the departure from accepted practice which we have made in building the "Dreadnought," the distinctive feature of which is an armament exclusively of one type of heavy gun.

MR. EDMUND ROBERTSON

I am not yet in a position to give any information respecting the armament of these battleships.
