To ask the President of the Board of Trade whether he has seen the suit brought against the Imperial Tobacco Company of Great Britain and Ireland in the Courts at Washington for agreements in restraint of trade with the American Tobacco Trust; and whether he will watch the same with a view to bringing in legislation against trusts here of a similar character to that proposed in the United States.

(Answered by Mr. Kearley.) The Board of Trade are aware of the case to which the hon. Member refers. As at present advised they can hold out no hope of the introduction of legislation on the lines suggested.
