HC Deb 30 July 1907 vol 179 cc776-7
MR. GRETTON

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Education if regulations, informing the local education authorities of the methods to be adopted for ascertaining the wishes of parents in single-school areas in view of providing a school, are to be issued; and if they will be laid upon the Table.

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD OF EDUCATION (Mr. MCKENNA,) Monmouthshire, N.

If the hon. Member is referring to the grant of £100,000 for the provision of new Schools, I am not prepared to make any further statement beyond the Answer which was given to the hon. Member for the Ecclesall Division on the 22nd instant, to the effect that I have under consideration regulations, compliance with which will be necessary in order to obtain a grant. These regulations will in due course be laid upon the Table.

SIR PHILIP MAGNUS (London University)

Will there be any opportunity of discussing these regulations?

MR. McKENNA

I understand it will be taken on the Second Reading of the Appropriation Bill.
