HC Deb 29 July 1907 vol 179 c472
MR. YOUNGER (Ayr Burghs)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether the liabilities on counties in Scotland to provide stores and quarters for Militia battalions under the Militia Act of 1854 will continue in force after the passing of the Territorial Forces Bill; and, if so, what provision has been made for the War Department acquiring these Militia stores and quarters, which were provided and continue to be maintained from county funds.

MR. HALDANE

So long as the buildings now existing are required for Militia purposes, the liabilities of the counties under the Act of 1854 will continue. I am not in a position at present to give any information on the other points raised in the Question.
