HC Deb 25 July 1907 vol 179 cc131-2
MR. KETTLE (Tyrone, E.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether Lord Cromer was entitled to and has obtained a pension on his retirement; and, if so, what is the amount of this pension, and is it charged on Imperial or Egyptian funds.

SIR EDWARD GREY

A pension of £900 a year has been granted to Lord Cromer from Imperial Funds. This is the pension attached, by the hitherto existing rules, to service as Diplomatic Agent and Consul-General in Egypt. The pension earned in other posts of corresponding importance, such as Embassies, is £1,700 a year.
