HC Deb 25 July 1907 vol 179 cc148-9
MR. J. P. FARRELL

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether his attention has been called to the case of James Finnegan, of Ballywillan, Granard, who was evicted twenty-one years ago, and only reinstated because he agreed to purchase his farm at a price, the instalments of which he now finds it impossible to pay; whether any means exist by which this man's annuity could be reduced so as to enable him to pay the instalments as he is willing to do; and will he direct the attention of the Estates Commissioners to this case.

MR. BIRRELL

The Estates Commissioners are unable to trace the case referred to in the Question. If the hon. Member will name the estate upon which Finnegan is a tenant purchaser the Commissioners will have further inquiries made.
