HC Deb 25 July 1907 vol 179 c111
MR. YOXALL (Nottingham, W.)

To ask the President of the Board of Education whether he is aware that in the case of the Broughton boys' school, Hampshire, the staff consists of a certificated teacher and a monitor, possessing no qualification under the code, who has been refused recognition as a supplementary teacher; and whether the Board will recommend that to this school, containing on the average about forty scholars, who have to be taught in several classes or standards, an additional teacher, possessing qualifications for the work, shall be appointed.

(Answered by Mr. McKenna.) I do not think that this is a case in which I could insist on the appointment of an additional qualified teacher, especially as the school supply of the district is now under consideration by the local authority, who have announced their intention of providing a new council school.
