§ MR. C. E. PRICE (Edinburgh, Central)I beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether some intimation could be made by the Admiralty, either through the Press or to the local authorities, of the intention of any part of His Majesty's Fleet to visit any port in the British Isles, so as to prevent any uncertainty as to the date of call, the strength of the Fleet, and the number of the officers and men employed.
§ MR. LAMBERTI presume that the hon. Member's Question arises out of the incident at Edinburgh during the recent visit of the Channel Fleet, and it is hoped that the arrangements to be made in future will obviate the recurrence of the inadvertence on that occasion to make the necessary communication to the local authorities.
