§ MR. MITCHELL-THOMSON (Lanark shire, N.W.)I beg to ask the Under-secretary of State for the Colonies whether any, and, if so, what, statutory conditions governing the importation of labour into the Transvaal prevent British subjects from St. Helena from working in the Transvaal mines.
§ MR. CHURCHILLI am advised that natives of St. Helena could not be introduced into the Transvaal at the present time except in accordance with the provisions of the Labour Importation Ordinance, 1904.
