HC Deb 22 July 1907 vol 178 c1141
MR. REES (Montgomery Boroughs)

To ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware that British insurance companies decline to insure employees engaged in this country for service in British Central Africa owing to the uncertainty which exists as to the law which runs in that Protectorate; and whether he can now give the House any information as to whether the Workmen's Compensation Act is in force in the said Protectorate.

(Answered by Mr. Churchill.) My hon. friend's Question refers to a matter which is still under the consideration of the Department, and I think it will be of advantage if I defer my reply for the present.
