HC Deb 22 July 1907 vol 178 cc1143-4
MR. J. MACVEAGH (Down, S.)

To ask the Postmaster-General whether he can state the name of the person whose tender has been accepted for the Bellaghy and Castledawson mail-car service; whether it was the lowest tender sent in; and, if not, on what grounds any lower tenders were not accepted.

(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) The tender of Mr. W. B. Kennedy, the previous contractor, has been accepted for the Bellaghy and Castledawson mail-car service. This tender was not the lowest, but the difference was so trifling that I considered it inadvisable to make † See (4) Debates, clxxvii, 1165 any change, as the present contractor had given complete satisfaction.
